Zermatt lies at the foot of the Matterhorn (4.478 m), the world’s most iconic mountain. This car-free mountain village, located at 1,620m in the heart of the Swiss Alps, is surrounded by 38 summits over 4000m. This includes the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and its tallest peak, the Dufourspitze, which happens to be Switzerland’s highest peak at 4,634m. ALPS
The Alps are the highest and most extensive mountain range system that lies entirely in Europe. It is a discontinuous mountain range and comprises numerous peaks and valleys, that are of varying heights and depths, stretching approximately 1,210 km across eight Alpine countries: France, Monaco, Switzerland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany and Slovenia, with a maximum width of about 250 km at its widest point and an average height of about 2,500m.

ANDES
The Andes, “Cordillera de Los Andes” in Spanish, are the longest continental mountain range in the world. It is a continuous highland, along the western edge of South America, of 8,900 km long that crosses seven countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina with a maximum width of about 700 km at its widest point and an average height of about 4,000 m.
Chile is a tricontinental country; with its mainland in South America, Easter Island in Oceania and Chilean Antarctic territory in Antarctica. Flanked on each side by The Andes and the Pacific Ocean, it is the longest and narrowest country in the world, and its landscapes stretch from the driest desert in the world to ancient glaciers. With more than 2000 volcanoes, the highest peak in Chile is also the world’s highest volcano; Ojos del Salado (6,893m) located in the Chile-Argentina border.
Puerto Varas, located in southern Chile, is famous for its natural environment and its German traditions. Surrounded by rivers, lakes, volcanoes, waterfalls and native forests, Puerto Varas is considered the entrance to Chilean Patagonia. This area is abundant in volcanoes; Osorno, one of the most active volcanoes in southern Chile, Calbuco, active and last erupted in 2015, Puntiagudo, considered to have the most difficult summits to reach and Tronador, covered with up to 8 glaciers, in total 138 km2.
